Vanima walked out onto the practice grounds, clad in deerskin shorts and tunic, her brown hair pulled up into a braid coiled around her head. Smiling, she looked down at her recent tattoo, a vine of ivy coiling around her leg from her ankle to her knee. Putting her bow and quiver of arrows down, Vanima stretched out a bit before she decided what to do.
She picked up her bow, then carefully selected an arrow from her quiver. Looking at the target, she brought the bow and arrow up and drew the bowstring back. She let go of the arrow and it cut through the air, landing near the bullseye. Knocking another arrow, this time Vanima aimed for the centre. Again the arrow cut through the air, this time landing in the centre. Smiling with satisfaction, Vanima's ear caught the sound of someone approaching. Carefully knocking a third arrow, she quickly spun around, aiming the arrow at the intruder, but not releasing it.

Chase had been in his own world for a good period of the day, mostly day dreaming about his next meeting with Vanima. A sigh escaped his lips as he glanced out to the practice grounds to see someone practicing with a bow and arrow. The someone was a female and it was noticeable. Soon he recognized the way the bow was being held, or at least he thought he did. It was the way that Vanima held her bow, but he could have been imagining things seeing as she was all that was ever on his mind. Shrugging off his gut feelings, he made his way down to the grounds with his spear in hand and crossed his arms.
The closer that he got to her, the closer that it looked like the woman that was constantly on his mind. A smile crossed his lips as he came a little bit closer and realized that it was her. However he was stopped quickly in his tracks by the sight of an arrow being aimed at him. Quickly, he turned his spear over and thrust it in the ground so it would stand upright and lifted his hands in the air to show that he was unarmed at the moment. “Vanima, I didn’t think you would come out here, it’s very nice to see you.”

Vanima's heart skipped a beat as she recognized the intruder. She quickly let the bowstring ease back to a relaxed state as she lowered the bow itself. "Were you not the one who told me that practice makes perfect?" She smiled, looking him up and down. Deep down she knew she would eventually see him as this was his territory, his domain so to speak.
"It has been a long time..." She said, putting down her bow finally and moving closer to Chase. "As for why I am here, I volunteered to sit on the council. My father was not terribly thrilled, considering I am his only heir." She let out a small chuckle. "But I must be honest that I had something else on my mind when I took it. Actually, more like someone else on my mind." She confessed, looking down at the ground then up at Chase, her cheeks turning pink.

Soon the tension on the bowstring was relieved and Chase finally was able to smile towards Vanima. She slightly mocked him and the elf nodded a bit. He did say something like that to her, but that wasn’t exactly what he meant. Soon she answered the question that he didn’t ask and he nodded a bit with a smile on his face. Soon the prince took a few steps towards the princess. A confession came from her, justifying the reason why she had come out to Saleria and this brought an even bigger smile to Chase’s face. But of course he knew that it didn’t necessarily mean that she wanted to be with him like he wanted to be her.
“That’s good to know. A certain someone has been on my mind as well.” His hands soon rested behind his back, his feet shifting around nervously. “But it’s good to see you out here and I hope that you didn’t have any problems in the famed Saleria Woods. A lot of travelers end up with that problem, I hope that you are not one of them.”

Vanima's cheeks turned a brighter pink as he admitted that he had had her on his mind as well. She knew that with her luck it probably didn't mean what she had hoped, but it was always nice to dream. She took another step and closed the gap between the two of them.
"My trip wasn't too bad. Ran into a rogue elf, whom is quite skilled in the art of fighting." She spoke softly, looking into Chase's eyes. "I managed to escape with only a gash to my arm, which is healing quite well. Had I not had a good teacher though, I may have lost my life."

The gap between the two of them was closed further and Chase finally realized the pink appearing on the cheeks of Vanima. He smiled a bit and looked to the ground, not wanting to ask the question that was on his mind. He wasn’t quite ready to face one of his biggest fears just yet, so he would just go along with it for the time being.
He then heard about her encounter with the rogue elf in the forest and nodded. “Vyran… Our Helena also had a run in with him. You are actually quite lucky to make it out alive. Lord knows how many of my soldiers I’ve dispatched to get rid of him, none of them have returned.” A sigh escaped the lips of Chase but he was relieved at the same time that Vanima had come out of that alive.

"So he does have a name." She whispered. When Chase mentioned that none of his men had returned, she frowned. "That is sad to hear." She said, one hand reaching out and stroking his cheek. How long had she waited to do that? Just to be in his presence again? Now he was here, and she was here, it was all to perfect.
"Yes, I am lucky, but I am luckier still to be here with you." Vanima smiled, her hand now on his chest. She bit her lower lip, arguing with herself on whether she should tell him her feelings. Her father had always said that if you had something to say, say it and never regret it. "Chase, I.. I do not know how to tell you, but I..." She took a deep breath and decided to take the plunge. "Ever since I first met you, I have had feelings for you..."

Feeling a hand upon his cheek, Chase glanced up slowly to look to Vanima with a slight smile on his face. Her skin was very soft, and he had been longing to feel her touch. Now that he had, it made it even harder to hide his true feelings from her. The last thing he wanted was to be living in a one sided relationship, with him only having feelings for her.
Soon her hand was on his chest and he had a hand along her side, looking into her eyes. She started talking once more and then she had said the words he had been waiting for all this time. But it had caught him speechless for the time being, thinking of what to say. Finally his mouth opened, but words didn't come out, instead he had leaned forward and placed a soft kiss upon the lips of Vanima.

Surprised by his kiss, Vanima placed both her hands on either side of his face, pulling him in for a deeper kiss. She had waited for so long to kiss him, and now it was happening. Breaking the kiss eventually, she looked up at him and smiled.
"I take it you have feelings for me as well?" She inquired, looking up at him again. She was sure her father had offered this trip to her for the exact reason for her to be with him. He was not the type to say anything, but he always seemed to know when she was attracted to someone. "I have felt this way ever since you rescued me those many years ago in the forest near my home."

Chase had his hands on the waist of Vanima and leaned in for the deeper kiss. A smile grew over his face after hearing her question and he nodded. "I do have feelings for you as well. I was always afraid to say anything to you, in fear that you wouldn't feel the same way. That is one thing that I am afraid of.. or at least I was afraid of. You not feeling the same way about me that I feel about you. I guess those fears are pushed into the back of my mind though."
It was true, he had very few fears, but that was one of them. Now that he had conquered and got rid of that fear, life could be so much more pleasant. Soon he heard her words and nodded a bit with a smile on his face. "That is about the same time that I started feeling that way. After training you, you were very capable, beautiful, and smart. What is there not to love about you?"

A wave of relief washed over Vanima, glad that both of them had their feelings out in the open. At his compliment, she began to blush again. "Well I had a very good teacher as I have said." She smiled, eyes shining as she looked up at him.
"When I first saw you, you were my knight in shining armour." She said, remembering their first encounter. "You saved my life, and then trained me to make sure I would never be caught in that situation again. My parents still do not know that I am a skilled fighter. They expect me to marry someone who will protect me." She stopped, realizing she had mentioned marriage. "Not that they were expecting us to get married, or that I want us to get married..." She kicked herself mentally. "I just mean that I'm... I'm making a fool of myself aren't I?"

Noticing Vanima begin to blush once more, Chase smiled and kissed the pink cheek of the girl in his arms. This being said, he slowly and gently began to wrap an arm around her waist, holding her close with a smile on his face. She began to speak about their first encounter and he nodded a bit with a smile on his face. But soon the words of marriage were spoken and he was silent.
He did want to get married some day, and if to anyone, why not Vanima. But as of yet, he wasn't sure as far as the timing went. He was brought back to reality by a question from her and he shook his head. "No.. you aren't making a fool of yourself. I was just... thinking I guess you can say about what you were saying. Why can't we get married?"

Taking a deep breath, Vanima counted to ten before letting it out. She organized her thoughts properly before she answered. "What I meant to say was that I would like to get married, hopefully one day to you, but as of right now, the council is important as well." She managed to say, resting a hand on his chest, her head on his shoulder.
"I am usually never this inarticulate, but you just have that way with me." She chuckled, looking down at the ground. It was true, she usually ended up tongue tied whenever Chase was around. "So to sum up, yes I would like to get married, yes to you, but not right now."

It appeared that Vanima had to collect her thoughts before speaking and once she did, Chase hung onto her words, nodding slowly. He agreed with what she had said and hoped that what he said didn't seem like he was pushing the fact. He wanted to wait for some time as well. But her comment about her speech brought a smile to his face.
Chase leaned in to Vanina and kissed her cheek softly before smiling once more. "It's fine, I am usually tongue tied whenever you are near as well. I don't want to say the wrong thing around you. As for marriage. I wasn't meaning now, but sometime down the road.. I would love to have the honour to have you as my wife." It almost sounded like a proposal, but it was unofficial. Now that she was around, he would have time to plan out a more official one.

Vanima was momentarily speechless at what Chase had just said. "I would be honoured to be your wife... eventually." She chuckled, gently poking him in the ribs. "Just do not let my father hear this. He would start making plans for a wedding and believe me, when he does something like that, he goes all out." She smiled, arm wrapped around his waist.
"So did you come out here to practice or you just happened to see me?" She inquired, noting her bow on the ground. True, she had come out here to practice, but now that Chase was by her side, she did not wish to practice, but to talk and walk with him.
